Establishment and Growth
IMI Industries Co., Ltd. (IMI) was founded in 1989 under the name “International Measuring Instruments Company Limited.” It started by providing quality measurement and control instruments in the petrochemical industry.
In 1993, IMI took a significant step by participating in a major project with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). The company supplied a simulator to the Mae Moh Power Plant for 7 million USD and installed 10 sets of fire extinguishing systems for turbine generators worth 50 million baht. This success marked a turning point, demonstrating IMI’s capability in handling large-scale projects.
In 1999, the company changed its name to “IMI” to reflect its expanding service scope and becoming a supplier of various products to the market.
Business Expansion
From 2006 to 2010, IMI played a crucial role in a mega project with PTT for NGV. The company signed a contract worth 3,000 million baht, covering the procurement and installation of equipment in 17 NGV stations, supplying 10,000 NGV storage tanks, and 40 long-term trailers.
Organizational Development
IMI emphasizes continuous organizational development. In 2012, the company received ISO 9001:2015 certification, and in 2016, it announced its clear vision and inspired its employees’ collective spirit.
Continuous Business Expansion
In 2016, IMI entered the oil business by supplying fuel dispensers to PTT OR, Bangchak, and SHELL, along with Automatic Tank Gauging (ATG) systems. By 2021, the company had installed over 2,500 dispensers and implemented automatic management systems in stations.
In 2017, IMI expanded into the solar energy business and received ISO 9001:2018 certification in 2019. It subsequently developed into a full-fledged solution provider for the solar energy business.
In 2020, the company successfully upgraded the Reheat Spray Water Control Valve and Desuperheater systems worth 6 sets at the Hongsa Power Plant.
In 2021, IMI was appointed as a distributor of ValvTechnologies’ special valves (KV valve) by PTT for the site molecular filter project (5 sets). The company also played a significant role in replacing drain valves and water separation valves in the boiler system for TOP, IRPC, EGAT, Hongsa Power Plant, Ratchaburi, and Gulf groups.
